Who is the Interior Designer of The Holiday?

The interiors in The Holiday were not created by a traditional interior designer, but by the film’s production designer, Jon Hutman, and set decorator, Cindy Carr.

  • Amanda’s Los Angeles Mansion – The sleek, modern, luxurious home was a set built entirely on a soundstage in Los Angeles (not a real house). It reflected contemporary Californian elegance with glass walls, high-end furniture, and clean lines.
  • Iris’s English Cottage (Rosehill Cottage) – This was also a fictional set, constructed in Surrey, England, inspired by traditional countryside cottages. It had cozy interiors, floral patterns, soft lighting, and rustic furniture to capture a warm, romantic atmosphere.

So, while an “interior designer” in the traditional sense wasn’t hired, the film set designers were responsible for the interiors — blending interior design principles with cinematic storytelling.
