Which plywood brands do you prefer (Greenply, Century, Austin)?

That’s one of the most important technical questions 👍 — because the plywood brand & grade is the backbone of your kitchen, wardrobes, and storage. Even the best laminate or hardware will fail if the ply is poor quality.

Here’s a breakdown of the top plywood brands in Delhi NCR and when to use them:

✅ 1. Greenply Industries (Most Popular, Widely Trusted)

  • Ranges: Green Club 700 (BWP), Green Gold, Ecotec.
  • Features:
    • ISI-marked, BWR/BWP grades available.
    • Boiling Water Proof (BWP) ply = best for kitchens/bathrooms.
    • Termite & borer resistant.
  • Warranty: 7–25 years (depending on range).
  • Best for: Kitchens, wardrobes, premium furniture.
  • Price Range: ₹110–₹200 per sq.ft (depending on thickness & grade).

✅ 2. Century Ply (High-Quality, Premium Brand)

  • Ranges: Architect Ply, Club Prime (BWP), Bond 710 (BWR).
  • Features:
    • Strong distribution in Delhi NCR.
    • High durability & finish quality.
    • Eco-friendly & emission-compliant versions available.
  • Warranty: 25 years (Club Prime).
  • Best for: Long-lasting modular kitchens, wardrobes, luxury projects.
  • Price Range: ₹120–₹250 per sq.ft.

✅ 3. Austin Ply (Mid-Premium, Gaining Popularity)

  • Ranges: Austin Club Plus (BWP), Austin Platinum.
  • Features:
    • Good water-resistance, termite resistance.
    • Slightly cheaper than Greenply/Century but strong performance.
  • Warranty: 10–20 years.
  • Best for: Value-for-money option for kitchens, wardrobes, storage.
  • Price Range: ₹90–₹150 per sq.ft.

✅ 4. Other Trusted Options

  • Kitply: Old brand, budget-friendly.
  • Sainik Ply (by Century): Economical BWR option, good for wardrobes & non-wet areas.
  • Sharon Ply (South India, available in NCR): Premium, long-lasting.

💡 My Recommendation (Delhi NCR Homes)

  • Kitchens, bathrooms, utility areas: BWP/Marine Ply (Century Club Prime or Green Club 700).
  • Wardrobes, beds, storage in dry areas: BWR Ply (Century Bond 710, Green Gold, Austin Club Plus).
  • Budget interiors / rental flats: Sainik 710 or Austin Gold (good balance of price & durability).

✅ What You Should Ask Your Designer

  1. Which brand & grade of plywood are you quoting (BWR vs BWP)?
  2. Will you give me original brand bills with GST?
  3. Is the ply ISI-marked with warranty card?
  4. Do you use HDHMR/Marine Ply in high-moisture areas?
  5. Will you provide a spec sheet in BOQ (brand + grade for each unit)?

⚠️ Red Flags

  • Designer says: “Don’t worry, we’ll use good ply” but doesn’t name brand/grade 🚩.
  • Uses commercial ply everywhere (not suitable for kitchens).
  • No bill/warranty card → likely local/duplicate ply.

✅ Pro Tip

  • Always insist on brand-stamped ply sheets (Century/Green/Austin emboss their logo & IS code).
  • Ask designer to note ply brand + grade room-wise in the BOQ.
  • Never settle for “Commercial Ply” in kitchens or bathrooms.
