Elevating Entertainment: A Guide to Stunning TV Panel Designs by an Interior Design Expert

In the realm of interior design, the focal point of many living rooms is undoubtedly the television. As an expert interior designer, I understand the importance of not only integrating this essential piece of technology seamlessly into the space but also elevating its presence through thoughtfully designed TV panels. In this blog, let’s delve into the world of TV panel designs, exploring creative and functional ideas that promise to transform your entertainment area into a visually stunning centerpiece.

The Power of TV Panel Designs:

**1. Seamless Integration: A well-designed TV panel seamlessly integrates the television into the overall aesthetic of the room. Consider opting for a panel that complements the existing design elements, creating a cohesive look that enhances the visual appeal of the space.

**2. Concealing Cables and Components: One of the key functions of a TV panel is to conceal the often tangled web of cables and electronic components. A thoughtfully designed panel ensures that these elements are neatly hidden, contributing to a clean and organized appearance.

Creative TV Panel Designs:

**3. Floating Shelves and Display Units: Elevate the functionality of your TV panel by incorporating floating shelves and display units. These additions not only provide a stylish platform for decorative items but also serve as practical storage for media devices, books, or decorative accents.

**4. Textured Wall Panels: Infuse a touch of sophistication by incorporating textured wall panels around the TV. Whether it’s a sleek wooden finish, a textured wallpaper, or even textured paint, these panels add depth and visual interest, turning the TV area into a focal point of elegance.

Personalization and Customization:

**5. Backlit Panels: For a touch of modern glamour, consider incorporating backlit panels behind the TV. LED lights placed strategically can create a soft and atmospheric glow, adding a layer of sophistication to the entertainment area.

**6. Customized Built-ins: Tailor your TV panel to meet your specific needs by incorporating customized built-ins. From integrated storage solutions to a niche for your sound system, built-in elements ensure that your TV panel not only looks stunning but also serves your functional requirements.

Embracing Minimalism:

**7. Sleek and Minimalist Designs: Minimalism continues to be a timeless design trend, and it works exceptionally well in TV panel designs. Opt for clean lines, neutral colors, and minimalist aesthetics to create a sleek and uncluttered look that complements modern interiors.

Keeping Up with Technology:

**8. Adjustable and Rotating Panels: Stay ahead of the curve by incorporating adjustable and rotating panels. These innovative designs allow for flexibility in viewing angles, making it easy to customize the setup for various entertainment needs.

As an expert interior designer, I believe that the design of the TV panel is an art form that goes beyond mere functionality. It is an opportunity to infuse creativity, style, and innovation into a space that holds a central role in the home. By embracing thoughtful designs, personalization, and a keen eye for aesthetics, your TV panel can become a statement piece, elevating the overall ambiance of your living room. So, whether you lean towards modern minimalism, textured elegance, or customized solutions, let your TV panel be a reflection of your unique style and a testament to the seamless integration of technology and design in your home.

T.V panel interior design for your home

it is around the television that the living room  is organized. Despite the frantic use of the Internet or platforms like Netflix, people still do not dispense with this device, which, incidentally, is often connected to the computer.

Not so long ago, television was large and bulky, which, let’s face it, did not elevate the room from an aesthetic point of view. Today, it’s not like that anymore. Televisions have modernized, are thinner and have a beautiful design that does not appear out of step in the context in which they are inserted.

Still, it is important to find a practical solution for placing it within spaces – regardless of whether it is the living room or the bedroom or kitchen. Today, we share with you some suggestions in this regard. Take note of the TV furniture that appears in the next images and, of course, our tips.

1. Consider the size of the television

Before choosing the support for your television, you must take into account the size of the television. You can choose a TV cabinet, a TV panel or even insert it in a bookcase, but you have to make sure that the structure can handle the weight well and that, at the same time, it fits the TV nicely in the space.

If you have children at home, this point becomes even more important because the choice of furniture that does not support the weight of the television is one of the main causes of domestic accidents. Also make sure that the length is ideal and that there is some space on the sides of the television. Proportion is everything. The television unit should also allow you to include additional accessories (if applicable) such as speakers, consoles, boxes, DVD collections, among others.

2. Take into account the size of the space where the television will be accommodated

The size of the space in which it will accommodate the television and the respective furniture must also be considered. It doesn’t make sense for a very small area to have a huge television and vice versa. Again, it’s all about proportions. Visually, television must make sense within space and not seem lost or imposing itself too much. So that this doesn’t happen, take the measurements. You can even mark them in pencil or with tape on the wall.

3. What materials are most used for TV stands?

In the construction of furniture, there is a material that always wins out in terms of popularity. Do you know what it is? The wood, of course. Plywood – or plywood – is often used because it supports the weight better than traditional wood. However, we find TV furniture in other materials such as chrome steel, aluminum or tempered glass. The latter is more dangerous for homes where there are small children, as it can break.

4. Does the style of the TV furniture have to be the same as that of other furniture?

We would say that the answer to this question is inexorably related to your personal taste. The support for the television can repeat the style of the space where it is inserted, but it can also appear as a contrast. However, there must always be harmony between the pieces and each case is different.

Fortunately, there is a plethora of solutions available on the market so you will not have a hard time finding one you like. If you don’t particularly identify with anything you see, you can simply hang the television on the wall or place it in a niche or in the center of a bookcase.

5. The layout / configuration of the space

Another aspect to consider is the configuration of the space and what defines it in terms of architecture or pre-existing resources. Does the room have a fireplace? Is the perimeter asymmetrical? Where are the doors? And the windows?

Will the light coming in through the windows hit the television, making watching programs uncomfortable? Where are the sockets and connections? Can I have to move them? Do not forget these details that in addition to the size of the television you choose will influence its positioning.

6. Distance between television and sofa

And as we are concerned with your health and well-being, we could not fail to include in this article the distance you should watch television. These are the recommended distances between the television and the sofa:

– 32 inches (81 cm): 1.5 to 2.3 meters;
– 40 and 43 inches (102 to 109 cm): 2 to 2.8 meters;
– 46 to 49 inches (117 to 124 cm): 2.4 and 3.2 meters;
– 50 or 51 inches (127 to 130 cm): 2.5 to 3.3 meters;
– 55 inches (140 cm): 2.8 to 3.6 meters;
– 65 inches (165cm): 3.4 to 4.2 meters.

7. Should I put the television on the wall over the fireplace?

Should not. We perceive the temptation to have everything to come to that point. Television and fireplace on top of each other: what more can you ask for? However, the television would be very much on top and this angle is not comfortable – let our neck say so! Then, there is another obvious problem that, we bet, is already wondering what it is.

There are few things worse for an electronic device than being exposed to heat and the more the television overheats, the shorter the life span. What’s more, soot can get on the TV and damage it. Having the television on the wall and, above all, on the fireplace, would also bring you some complications in terms of the passage of wires.

This does not mean that it is impossible to install the television over the fireplace. It is necessary to have more work, bet on an excellent layer of insulation between the television and the fireplace, study the electrical installation very well and use a wood that does not emit much soot. We strongly recommend that you do not do this alone. Hire a professional.

8. TV and television panel suspended directly on the wall

Suspending the television on the wall or opting for a panel is a good option that will clear you of useful space on the floor and also make the environment lighter. However, don’t forget that televisions are heavy – even modern ones – so it is important to know if the wall can support the weight – of the panel and / or the television. Drywall walls, for example, are not suitable for this purpose.

Also, make sure that the LCD television can be suspended. In the instruction manual, you will be able to find this information (the model must be compatible with VESA – Video Electronics Standards Association). If you do not find this information in the manual, see if the television at the back has holes to be mounted on the wall.

Then you have to choose the support. There are fixed and other supports that allow you to tilt and rotate the television. The latter are better. Check how the cables can run and if there are any obstacles to it.

Using tape or a pencil, as we have already explained, defines the area that the TV will occupy. Sit on the sofa and adjust according to your preferences and that of your family.

The television must then be fixed in accordance with the instructions. If you are not comfortable with this task, hire a professional.

9. Putting the television on a shelf

In many living rooms, we see the sofas oriented towards a bookcase – which occupies the entire wall – with the television in the middle. This solution is very timely not only because the bookshelf fills the wall and makes up the decoration of the room, making it more welcoming, but also because it offers additional storage space that always makes sense in a home.

Thus, around the television, you can store your books, vinyl, DVDs and have various decorative objects such as frames, jars, among others. The compartment where the television is located must, of course, be opened or semi-open from behind for the cables to pass.

10. What professionals can help you?

As with everything that concerns our home, the help of a professional to help us determine the best location for television and fix it (if applicable) is always welcome. We have a vast list of professionals organized by category. For this particular task, you may find support from a cabinetmaker, carpenters, electrician and / or decorator. Refine your search by adding the postal code or name of the area served.
